Vegetation Fire - San Bruno Mountain, Brisbane

On July 2, 2024 at 10:44 a.m., 11 Fire Companies, 2 Air Tankers, 1 Helicopter, 1 Dozer, 3 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a reported vegetation fire in the San Bruno Mountain area to the immediate west of the City of Brisbane.

The first arriving fire company observed a vegetation fire burning within grass and brush along the ridge and backing down the mountain at a slow rate of spread. Arriving fire resources took quick action to contain and extinguish the fire, limiting the fire to 4 acres total. There were no threats to structures, no injuries to firefighters or civilians.

Firefighters will remain on scene for some time to ensure total extinguishment. The cause of the fire is under investigation by CAL FIRE as this incident was within their jurisdiction. Anyone who may have information is urged to contact the Office of the State Fire Marshal at 1-800-468-4408.
