Vegetation Fire - City of Brisbane

On July 25, 2026, at 7:19 p.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers, and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a vegetation fire at Bayshore Boulevard and Geneva Avenue in the Baylands area in the City of Brisbane. 

The first arriving fire company found smoke and flames coming from a wind driven vegetation fire. Fire companies made access into the fire area through thick vegetation and shrubbery and using hose lines were able to contain the fire, which burned approximately a half-acre.  

Fire companies remained on scene for over three hours checking for fire extension and completing salvage and overhaul operations. No structures were threatened by the fire and there were no injuries to any of the firefighters. 

The fire was determined to be human caused and is being investigated by the Brisbane Police Department and the North County Fire Authority.  

The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of cutting and removing all dry grass and flammable vegetation around their homes.
