Structure Fire - City of Brisbane

On May 14, 2024, at 3:08 p.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers and 2 Fire Investigators responded to a structure fire at 113 San Bruno Avenue in the City of Brisbane.

The first arriving fire company found smoke coming from the front of a one-story, single-family home. Firefighters made entry through the front door and began search and rescue operations throughout the home but found no occupants as all residents self-evacuated. Firefighters found smoke and flames coming from the laundry room and a clothes dryer and using hose lines, were able to contain the fire to a single room with smoke damage throughout the rest of the structure.

Fire companies remained on scene for an hour and a half checking for fire extension and completing salvage and overhaul operations.

No residents were displaced by the fire and there were no injuries to any of the firefighters or residents.

The cause of the fire was an accumulation of lint buildup in the dryer and dryer vent.

The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone to routinely inspect and vacuum out their dryer vent and installing and maintaining smoke alarms in their homes.
