Structure Fire - City of Brisbane

On February 26, 2024, at 2:33 p.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers, and 2 Fire Investigators responded to a residential structure fire at 437 Visitacion Avenue in the City of Brisbane.

The first arriving fire company found smoke and fire coming from a single-family residence. Firefighters made entry and began search and rescue operations throughout the home and simultaneously using hose lines put the fire out and finding no trapped occupants. The fire was held to the structure and no other exposures or other outside property was damaged.

It was determined that all residents were able to evacuate with no injuries. The incident caused fire and smoke damage to the kitchen area, but residents were not displaced from the home.

Fire companies remained on scene for two hours checking for fire extension, while also conducting salvage and overhaul operations. The cause of the fire was accidental and determined to be an unattended candle. There were no injuries to firefighters or any of the public.

North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke alarms. Working smoke alarms increase your chances of surviving a home fire by 50%. And “Candle with Care” - make sure to keep candles at least 1 foot away from anything that can burn and blow out all candles when you leave the room.
