Residential Structure Fire - City of Daly City

On November 28, 2025, at 5:09 p.m. 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers, 1 Fire Investigator, responded to a residential structure fire at #97 Wavecrest Dr., in the City of Daly City.

The first-arriving fire company encountered heavy smoke and active flames coming from a side kitchen window of a one-story single family row house.

Firefighters made a rapid interior attack and were able to quickly extinguish the fire, while simultaneously performing a primary search to ensure all occupants had safely evacuated. No residents were found inside the home. Crews located family pets in the backyard, all of which were safe and unharmed.

The fire caused extensive damage to the interior of the home, with the majority of the destruction contained to the kitchen area. Fire companies remained on scene for approximately three hours to check for fire extension and to complete salvage and overhaul operations.

There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians. Redcross was called to assist three family members with housing.

Fire Investigation revealed the cause of the fire to be accidental, the result of an electric stove left on, which was identified by firefighters upon arrival.

North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone to ensure always double-check that ovens and stoves are turned off before leaving home.
