Residential Structure Fire - City of Daly City

On November 11, 2025, at 8:34 a.m., 6 Fire Companies, 3 Chief Officers, and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a residential structure fire at 75 Mateo Ave., in the City of Daly City.

The first arriving fire company found smoke coming from the rear side of a two-story, single-family home. Firefighters made entry and found heavy smoke on the first floor and flames coming from a bedroom. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire while simultaneously performing search and rescue operations. One resident suffered smoke inhalation and was treated and cared for by firefighter paramedics at the scene, and was then transported by ambulance to a local hospital. One firefighter suffered a knee injury and was also taken to a local hospital. The fire was contained to the first floor sleeping area with smoke damage throughout the rest of the home.

Fire companies remained on scene for over three hours checking for fire extension and completing salvage and overhaul operations. Eleven residents and two cats were displaced by the fire but received housing assistance through the American Red Cross.

The fire is under investigation. The North County Fire Authority wants to remind all residents to install and maintain smoke alarms in their homes.
