Residential Structure Fire - City of Daly City

On September 24, 2025, at 10:44 p.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers, and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a residential structure fire at 101 Wellington Ave., in the City of Daly City.

The first arriving fire company found smoke and fire coming from the basement of an abandoned two-story single-family home. Using hose lines, firefighters were able to extinguish the fire while simultaneously performing search and rescue operations as well as protecting adjacent homes and property. No occupants were found or in need of rescue and the fire was contained in the basement.

Fire companies remained on scene for over two hours checking for fire extension and completing salvage and overhaul operations. No residents were displaced by the fire and there were no injuries to any of the firefighters or residents.

Fire investigation revealed that the fire was human caused and due to trespassers utilizing fire for cooking within the basement.
