Residential Structure Fire - City of Daly City

On September 9, 2025 at 12:53 a.m., 8 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers, and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a residential structure fire at 738 Hanover Street, in the City of Daly City.

The first arriving fire company found heavy smoke and fire coming from a two-story single-family residence. Firefighters made entry and began search and rescue operations throughout the home but found no occupants. Simultaneously using hose lines firefighters were able knock the fire down and protect exposures. The residents at home at the time of the fire were able to self-evacuate.

The incident caused major fire damage to the residential structure. A total of 6 people were displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.

Fire companies remained on scene for over four hours checking for fire extension, while also conducting salvage and overhaul operations. There were no injuries to firefighters or other public members.

The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental and due to improperly discarded smoking materials.
