Residential Apartment Structure Fire - City of Pacifica

On June 11, 2025, at 6:04 p.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers, and 2 Fire Investigators responded to a residential apartment structure fire at 439 Gateway Dr., in the City of Pacifica.

The first arriving fire company found smoke coming from a first floor apartment unit of a two story-12 unit multi-family apartment building. Firefighters made entry and began search and rescue operations, while simultaneously using hose lines to extinguish the fire. All occupants had evacuated safely. There were no injuries to citizens or firefighters. Firefighters remained on scene for over two hours checking for extension and conducting overhaul operations. Three occupants from two separate units are being assisted by the American Red Cross.

The cause of the incident was determined to be accidental due to improperly discarded smoking materials.

North County Fire Authority encourages residents to properly discard smoking materials in a non-combustible container and place away from other combustibles.
