Residential Apartment Complex Structure Fire - Daly City

On August 23, 2024, at 05:15 p.m., 5 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers, and 2 Fire Investigators responded to a residential apartment complex structure fire at 111 S. Mayfair Avenue, in the City of Daly City.

The first arriving fire company found heavy smoke and fire coming from a second-floor unit of a two-story apartment building. Firefighters made entry and began search and rescue operations throughout the but found no occupants. Simultaneously using hose lines firefighters were able to knock the fire down and protected other adjacent units and personal property. The residents were able to evacuate prior to the arrival of fire companies. with one resident treated on scene by firefighter paramedics for smoke inhalation with no medical transport.

The incident caused moderate to major fire and smoke damage to the unit displacing the resident.
Fire companies remained on scene for over three hours checking for fire extension, while also conducting salvage and overhaul operations.

The cause of the incident is currently under investigation by North County Fire Authority, Fire Prevention Division, Investigations Section.

One resident was treated on scene by paramedics with minor smoke inhalation but was not transported.
