Commercial Structure Fire - City of Daly City

On November 14, 2024 at 3:20 a.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers, and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a commercial structure fire at 2368 Junipero Serra Blvd.., in the City of Daly City.

The first arriving fire company found a fire within a commercial restaurant space currently under major renovation. Firefighters made entry and began search and rescue operations while simultaneously extinguishing the fire. The restaurant space was unoccupied at the time There were no injuries to firefighters. Firefighters remained on scene for over an hour checking for extension and conducting overhaul operations.

The cause of the incident was determined to be accidental and the result of spontaneous combustion of wood oil stain soaked rags.

North County Fire Authority wants to remind residents to follow the manufactures instructions and be aware of warnings of the oil or oil stain product being used.
