Cliff Rescue – City of Daly City

On July 6, 2024 at 12:54 p.m., 4 Fire Companies, 1 Rescue Unit, 1 Chief Officer and 1 CHP helicopter responded for a cliff rescue in the area of Menlo Avenue in the City of Daly City.

Responding firefighters discovered 3 subjects stuck approximately 150 feet below the top of the beach cliff due west of Menlo Avenue in the City of Daly City. The fog prevented the CHP helicopter from operating in the area. Utilizing a combination of low and high angle rope rescue operations, firefighters were lowered to the awaiting subjects who were each safely rescued from their position on the cliff. Firefighter paramedics evaluated the condition of the subjects who were uninjured and released at scene.

There were no injuries to emergency personnel.

The incident was mitigated in approximately two and a half hours.
