Cliff Rescue - City of Daly City

On July 10, 2026, at 6:50 p.m., 3 Fire Companies, 2 Rescue Units and 1 Chief Officer responded for a cliff rescue at Mussel Rock in the City of Daly City.

Fire crews located a 59-year-old male paraglider who had collided with the cliff face at Mussel Rock and came to rest on the side of the cliff approximately 400 feet below the edge. The patient sustained injuries in the crash and required a technical rescue to safely reach, stabilize, and remove him from the cliff. The patient was transported to a local hospital by AMR. No injuries were reported to any firefighters or any other emergency responders.
